The History of Villa Charlotte

Villa No.1 designed by the Vienna architect Alfred Bayer was built in the luxurious Western part of Karlovy Vary in 1892. It was built for the family of the well-known constructor Wilhelm Klemm and was named after his daughter Villa Charlotte. The beauty of the building increased by magnificent natural surroundings made it one of the most spectacular sights of the day.

The unique architecture of the building with its irregular outside structure, lacy balconies, small turrets and gently pointed roofing of the gable and the turrets immediately catches the eye of the passers-by and is by right regarded as one of the sights of the town to be seen and enjoyed by the guests.

Villa Charlotte is on the edge of the spa part of the town and very close to the famous mineral springs (a two hundred meters walk). The beautiful surroundings provide the guests with a lot of opportunities for quiet walks in the age-old forest. The historic central part of the town is not far from the hotel either, which is worth seeing.

Villa Charlotte spa hotel capacity is 11 double, 2 single rooms and 3 suites. Accommodation in singleand double rooms and suites with private bathrooms, toilet, mini-bar, telephone, TV-set, refrigerator, radio and bath robe for the whole stay. Meals (including diet) in a restaurant on the premises Villa Charlotte provides patiens with medical treatment, include medical examination and procedures performed by professionnally prepared personal: massages, paraffin packs, bubble bath, sauna, gasinjections, drinking of Carlsbad mineral water under medical observation, mud cure, Sharko shower, hydromassage, reflex massage.

• For tennis- and squash-fans there are different courts and halls in Karlovy Vary.
• Golf in Golf Resort Karlovy Vary AS - the Golf-Club Karlsbad was founded in 1904 by members of the Men Fencing Club who founded a 9-hole course on the area of 2300 m² between forested hills near the river of Tepla. The course was soon too small and in 1928 it was decided to build a new 18-hole course. This one was projected by Mr. C. Noskowski, Paris, and built under his personal supervision, out of the town by the street leading to Praha, which even nowadays after 60 years is still not beaten.
• Horse riding is possible in Karlovy Vary too. A professional instructor from the Riding Club Karlovy Vary is always at your disposal. You can make individual reservations before your trip to our spa town too.
